It has been a few years of work from information gathering, to proposal, to agreements, to funding, to construction, but now we have had the offic
ial opening of the Kudjip Hydro System Rebuild. There were a lot of problems along the way with technical issues, shipping delays, community issues, threats, thefts, arrests, and even hospital closures, but through it all God protected, helped, and guided. People in the community not only received job opportunities but some accepted the opportunity to find new life in Christ.
The three nights before the opening we had church services and staff appreciation. The day of the opening, April 30th, was a great celebration for community of welcoming distinguished guests – politicians and Australian Aid representatives (because the majority of funding was from Australian government’s Incentive Fund). Thousands of people came to see this great accomplishment (and play in the newly created reservoir).
After some testing and adjusting we are now running on our own power again. A mission group called ITEC also had come and replaced our main station power grid so it is getting delivered correctly as well.
We are so grateful for all of you in the church. This project wouldn’t have been possible without the initial giving of the church to show our investment in this project. It is a great example of loaves and fishes and how God multiplies our obedience. It also couldn’t have happened without all of your prayers.
