What Does it Mean to be a “Committed Christian”?

We believe in holistic health care, meaning that every person has physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. Many studies have shown the impact of a person’s beliefs on their healthcare decisions and outcomes. Even in the U.S., a majority of patients desire to discuss spiritual issues as part of their healthcare. When patients desire a spiritual discussion, we openly address these issues and answer questions from a Christian perspective. We also believe God has given us all free will through which we can choose to follow Him or not. Therefore, we do not impose our beliefs or worldview on others, but rather offer the hope of Christ to those who express a desire or interest. As a part of our Christian duty, we always strive to give the best care that we can in order to show God’s love to others, whether they share our beliefs or not.

“The Church of the Nazarene is a Great Commission church. Our mission is to make Christ-like disciples in the nations. We believe that God offers to everyone forgiveness, peace, joy, purpose, love, meaning in life, and the promise of heaven when life is over by entering and experiencing a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ. We are called to take this message to people everywhere.” (Quoted from the church’s website.)

Kudjip Nazarene Hospital is a ministry of the Church of the Nazarene. Our mission is the same as the mission of the church…to make Christ-like disciples. While we love and respect those who do not support our mission, and those whose beliefs are different than ours, we believe that they cannot participate fully in our ministry here.

If you know Jesus Christ as your personal savior and have committed your life to God (that’s what we mean by “committed Christian”), we invite you to take part in our ministry as a volunteer. We encourage you to share your faith in a loving way with interested patients. You don’t need to be a member of the Church of the Nazarene or agree with us precisely on a theological level. We only ask that those working with us agree to the central core doctrines of the Christian faith (for example, The Apostle’s Creed or Nicene Creed, including the doctrines of the Trinity and salvation through faith in Christ alone). If you are trusting Jesus as your savior, you are our brother or sister in Christ, and we would love to work and fellowship with you.
