November brought our leaders, General Superintendent David Busic
and Regional Director Rev. Mark Louw to do District Assemblies and National Board Meeting. While they were in their meetings, their wives Christy Busic and Linda Louw joined Kudjip missionaries Gail Dooley and Cindy Schmelzenbach in washing feet and doing pedicures and manicures on the obstetric delivery ward.
It was a special blessing to our patients and a great way to let our visitors be a part of the ministry of the hospital. We believe that each patient encounter at the hospital is a special chance to physically touch people with God’s love. Whether the need is a great medical need or simply someone who needs a word of encouragement, God calls us to bring healing and hope for body and soul. This was certainly a time to help these ladies feel especially loved.
Whether you know it or not, many of you have also been helping us to “wash feet” and share the good news as well here. When you give to the Greatest Need Fund you help us meet the needs of this ministry to continue to show God’s love. We use this fund to improve our care and buy things we could otherwise not obtain. Recently we have spent $5,200 on buying new mattresses to replace our old unhygienic and broken ones. We will spend nearly $13,000 on a new chemistry analyzer for our laboratory. We also spent $6,000 on our most recent container of medical supplies. These supplies help us with the equipment, medicines, and supplies that it takes to run this hospital. All of this makes possible a level of care otherwise not available in Papua New Guinea and this too is a physical demonstration of God’s love. Thank you for washing feet at Kudjip Nazarene Hospital!
