The hospital was blessed by a New Year’s Day offering. The Jika Mugmana Association (a community group) annually does a thanksgiving offering to bless prisons, hospitals, and others. This year they gave three truck loads full of vegetables, lamb ribs, chickens, and a large pig to the hospital. The interesting thing is that they are in a different province not even in the jurisdiction of the hospital. However, the hospital’s clinic is open to people from all over PNG and many people come to it when they can’t find help elsewhere.
This is the second time for this community to give a food offering to the Nazarene Hospital. The vegetables went to patients in the hospital as well as staff and students, the meat was frozen to be used for patient food. They also took up an offering and gave funds from the association. They donated about US$5,000 that the hospital will use towards patient food.
